Three generations, three different mediums, one perfect collaboration.

On Saturday, September 24th, the Viewpoints exhibit will come to a close.

The idea for a two person exhibit began several years ago because many of my paintings were inspired by Cecilia Ortiz’ photographs of the Faria Beach coastline.

The SCIART Members Gallery seemed to be the perfect venue. Along the way, Andy Lepe became an Artist in Residence. Andy was the 2016 recipient of the SCIART Award for Excellence. Tom and I have supported this award since it’s inception. Recently, Andy’s geometric abstract art was featured in an exhibit in the Blackboard Gallery. I was intrigued with his creations, and also observed that his palette was reminiscent of the sea, sky and sand, the theme of the planned exhibit.

Yesterday, visitors to the exhibit remarked that they felt a sense of serenity and beauty when they entered the room. I believe that was one of the goals we were reaching for. As the old 1970’s song said, what the world needs now is love.

My thanks to Cecilia Ortiz and Andy Lepe for this wonderful collaboration of three generations and three different mediums, paintings, photography and geometric contemporary art.

Saturday, September 24, will be the closing date for the exhibit, Viewpoints.
We invite you to stop by.
